High temperature averages are at 36°F (2°C), while low temperature averages measure in at 18°F (-8°C). Sub-zero temperatures are matched by 8 inches (20 cm) of snow fall.

February sees the average snowfall decreasing to 6 inches (15 cm) alongside a rise in temperature averages. The average low temperature increases to 21°F (-6°C), while the average high temperature rises to 40°F (5°C).

In March, Billings sees its high rate of snowfall in the entire year at 10 inches (25 cm). While snow fall is high, rainfall is relatively low at just 1 inch (28 mm). Billings Logan International Airport is a small airport with between 25 and 30 passenger flights per day. It is Montana’s busiest airport. Located about two miles north of Billings, the airport is served by several major airlines as well as smaller regional airlines. Cape Air connects Billings Logan International Airport with direct flights to cities in northeastern Montana. Billings can easily be reached by car. Interstate 90 connects Billings with cities to the west such as Bozeman, Butte, and Missoula; it connects the city east and then southeast to Wyoming. Interstate 94 connects Billings to Miles City and Glendive to the northeast.

There are a couple of ways that visitors can get from the Billings Logan Airport into downtown Billings. Because the airport is only about two miles from the city, many local hotels offer shuttle services to and from the airport. There are several other non-hotel shuttle services from the airport into the city such as Phidippides Cody Shuttle Service and Red Lodge Tour and Taxi. Taxi services and transit services include City Cab, MET Transit, and Yellow Cab. Billings offers several options when it comes to getting around the city to see the attractions and to find restaurants. Many visitors choose to walk especially during pleasant weather. MET is the name of Billings’ bus system. It consists of 17 fixed local bus routes. MET has a fleet of 40 buses: 25 of these are used for the fixed route service; and 15 are used for the MET Plus paratransit service for people with disabilities.
