Butterfly Meadows Inn and Farm is located a few miles from Franklin, TN, on forty acres of peaceful countryside. The surrounding woodland and meadows make this modern-built, old-fashioned farmhouse a secluded getaway location that promises fresh air and total peace to its guests.
The Southern hospitality of the owners shines through in their bed and breakfast service, making it an ideal spot for couples or families looking to unwind in the countryside.
Rooms and Suites at Butterfly Meadows Inn
The boutique inn has six guest rooms and one two-room suite. Six guest rooms are located in the main farmhouse building and boast king-sized beds, while the suite with two queen-sized beds is located in a separate coaching house a few yards away. Two rooms can also be rented out as a three-room suite, for those seeking a set of rooms to share with family or friends. All beds boast cotton sheets with a high thread count and are fitted with non-allergenic bedding and pillows.
Though the inn is a modern building, it is constructed to resemble an old country farmhouse and, as such, is decorated in a charmingly rustic fashion complete with rocking chairs on the porch. All bedrooms make the most of wood furniture and large windows edged with lace curtains to ensure bright, attractive spaces for the inn’s guests.
Each of the seven rooms is named after someone special in the innkeepers’ lives, mainly grandmothers and strong matriarchal figures. The seven rooms each have their own bathroom, air conditioning and heating units and hair dryers. They boast flat-screen televisions with satellite channels and a DVD player, alongside a Welcome Tray for all guests upon arrival.
Other guest amenities include the various spaces in the farm house. There are indoor and outdoor games for guests’ enjoyment, a cozy common area and porches for socializing and even an extensive library for reading. An elevator runs through the main house alongside the stairs, making even the upper floors easily accessible to those with accessibility needs.
Virginia’s Room is one of the largest guest rooms, decorated with strong floral motifs and roses. It’s based on a Victorian farmhouse theme and the bathroom includes a large walk-in shower. It’s also possible to add twin beds for an additional fee, in order to accommodate up to four people.
Anna’s Room is decorated with irises and offers a very homely space. The large windows afford fantastic views of the Tennessee hills and the seasonal farm garden that attracts many butterflies. It’s also the most accessible room on offer, thanks to its double vanities and the large spaces in between furniture. Though it is on the second floor, the elevator in the farmhouse makes it easy to reach.
Beth’s Room aims to be reminiscent of a guest room in the home of a favorite relative. Its honey colored furniture emphasis the warm tones of the room. The home-spun theme is completed with a brightly colored handmade quilt on the bed. Frances’ Room is similar, decorated with cheery red accents and striking Cherokee rose motifs.
Evalina’s Room and Tessie’s room are the final two guest rooms in the main house, which can be rented individually or as a suite. The two rooms are joined by a door and also share access to a semi-private sitting room for extra space to relax. Both rooms are furnished with paintings of bluebonnets to celebrate Evalina and Tessie’s shared Texas heritage and have private patio doors onto the back lawn and terrace. If rented as a shared suite, the rooms can sleep up to six people.
Outside in a separate building is Mimi’s Carriage House, a suite which has two queen-sized beds and a living area with two loveseats. Its secluded location offers extra privacy and space for those seeking a quiet retreat. It has two twin beds, a comfortable reading nook, a Keurig beverage station and mini fridge for additional self-sufficiency. However, due to its location, the suite has stairs-only access.
Dining at Butterfly Meadows Inn
Butterfly Meadows is a boutique bed and breakfast, offering all its guests a gourmet breakfast every morning made with fresh ingredients, including some from the inn’s own farm. Pastries are baked fresh in-house and the kitchen has its own dedicated chef to ensure every meal is delicious and fresh. The menus change by the season in order to best utilize fresh, local ingredients that can be sourced responsibly from nearby producers.
The Dining Inn is also available for all main meals throughout the day from noon to 7pm. It also produces snack platters, picnic meals or special celebration cakes upon request. At least three hours’ advanced notice is required for those wishing to dine in, and two people must both eat the same dish as the small farm kitchen restaurant cannot cater to large quantities. The Prix Fixe menu is dedicated to traditional, well-loved fare with inventive ingredients and is oozing with Southern charm.
