Guest Accommodations
La Cantera Resort offers 496 rooms in total, with various categories to choose from. There are Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites, Luxury Executive Suites and Seven for those over 21 years of age.
The Deluxe Rooms are available with either a king or two queen sized beds and offer 395 square feet of space. Some rooms come with a private balcony for high-up views of the surrounding scenery and rolling hills. Guests will love the affordability of these rooms, while still enjoying the luxury and elegance to be expected from a Destination Hotel.
Junior Suites provide a little more space with a sitting area as well as a king bedroom. The rooms are 550 square feet of newly renovated space. Guests will love the spectacular views and the space to lounge, relax and unwind after a busy, fun day.
Suites at La Cantera Resort & Spa
Luxury Executive Suites range from approximately 1000 to 1700 square feet of living space. They are perfect for both business travelers and families alike. The Executive Suites are 1200 square feet and feature a large parlour area (about 800 square feet) which make this suite great for entertaining and hosting small gatherings. There is dining space for four people, a living area, and a mini wet bar.
These suites offer city views from high above. There is an adjoining king size bedroom off the parlour and for an additional booking rate, guests can also have a queen size bedroom connected to their suite too. The Luxury Suite is one of the biggest at the resort, boasting about 1700 square feet of space. This suite also has a large, welcoming parlour area with dining for up to eight guests. There is a full size wet bar, plus a living area. The views from this suite are spectacular; guests can view the hill country as well as some of the resort pool areas.
A king bedroom is connected from the parlour and for an additional rate, a deluxe queen room can also be reserved which would be adjoining the suite as well. The VIP Suite is the largest of all suites, boasting three bedrooms and 1700 square feet of space. The parlour area is a little smaller, with a desk and sitting area but there is a king room, plus a deluxe king room adjoining. Guests can also request a deluxe queen room adjoining the VIP Suite. Hospitality Suites are great for small parties or day use with a living room, dining room, a bedroom and a wet bar.
Seven is coming soon and will be featured on the 7th floor for adults aged 21 and older only. Guests will be treated to daily complimentary continental breakfast, a private lounge with cocktail service, a private escorted check-in along with valet parking. The views from the 7th floor are amazing as they overlook Texas Hill Country. This is still undergoing transformation and will be available soon for reservation.
Dining at La Cantera Resort & Spa
There are multiple dining options at La Cantera for guests to choose from. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available depending upon preference and weather, of course. Guests should have no trouble finding a tasty treat or delicious meal during their stay.
The SweetFire Kitchen is a casual atmosphere with a wood fire oven to cook up fresh, made to order pizza. The exhibition kitchen adds to guests' dining experience as they can look on to see their meal created right before their eyes. The SweetFire Kitchen serves regional down home cooking along with signature dishes. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily with both indoor and outdoor seating available.
More Dining
Topaz is a lighter fare restaurant located next to the adult pool. They serve up small bites for those looking for a smaller, casual bite to eat by the poolside with a drink or two. Guests can enjoy salads, burgers, sandwiches and more at Topaz.
Vista Grille is located by the resort pool. Their menu consists of both light fare like salads and wraps as well as main dishes such as ribs and steak. They also boast a vast selection of cocktails, beers and wines.
Grille 254 at the Resort Clubhouse is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or an afternoon snack after finishing a round of golf or after enjoying the sunshine poolside. It is a casual atmosphere serving up a satisfying menu selection.
Bocado is a small characuterie located in the lobby, near the lobby bar. They serve smoked meats and cheeses, as well as other small bites. Guests can order from Bocado while visiting the lobby bar, or just on their own.
In-Room dining is available to all guests at La Cantera for those times when guests wish to enjoy a meal in the privacy of their own suite. There are many delicious menu items to choose from and room service is available from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
Coming soon is Signature by Andrew Weissman a restaurant on-site which will focus on French and Texan cuisine in an elegant setting.
Bars and Lounges
Guests will love the lounge and bar options at La Cantera. There are several places to mingle, sit back and enjoy a beverage as well as munch on lighter pub-style fare.
Primero Cantina serves up both a delicious smaller menu of tasty choices but also has an array of hand-crafted drinks to choose from. There is both outdoor and indoor seating available plus guests will never miss the big game with the big screen televisions place throughout the bar featuring the many different sports packages. On the Primero Terrace, guests can sip their cocktails by the fireplace and take in the panoramic views of the Texas Hill Country. They are open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sire Bar is the resort's bar right off the main lobby. The decor is inspired by the resort's King Ranch heritage. Guests can order hand-crafted cocktails, sip on many different types of beers and ales or just enjoy a great glass of wine. Food service is available from the SweetFire Kitchen and Bocado while lounging at the Sire Bar. They are open Sunday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Topaz is located by the adults only pool and not only serves light meals and snacks but also has an extensive bar menu for guests wishing to sip away in the sun poolside. Champagne, wine, beers and signature cocktails are available as well as Punches made for groups of three guests or more. Topaz is open Sunday to Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Spa
The Spa at La Cantera is one of San Antonio's premier spas, offering a range of services from massage to facials and manicures or pedicures. Guests will leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Guests will need to call ahead to make reservations for their desired time slot. Guests are invited to lounge by the pool or relax in the hot tub either prior to, or after their treatment to get the full experience from their spa day.
Opening soon is Loma De Vida Spa Wellness, which promises to deliver a unique, total spa experience for guests at La Cantera as well as the public. Guests will fall in love with the peaceful alcoves, the private gardens and the salt-water pools the spa has to offer. Treatment rooms are set on higher floors with incredible views of the hill country.
For ultimate luxury, private cabanas are available to enjoy complete and total relaxation in privacy. Their menu of services ranges from many types of massage to facials and signature rituals as well as nail services. Guests booking a minimum of three treatments will receive lunch from Quenche, the on-site lunch restaurant. Loma De Vida will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. beginning in the fall of 2016.
Golf
Golf enthusiasts will love the challenging, yet enjoyable courses at La Cantera Resort Spa. There are two courses, for a total of 36 holes of championship rated golf. The Resort Course at La Cantera has been voted the best San Antonio golf course in 2016 by San Antonio Express readers. It is a PGA stop each year and has been for the past 15 years. Golfers of all skill levels can enjoy a round of golf at the Resort Course with five sets of tees. It is a par 72 course boasting just over 7000 yards. Golfers will also enjoy the views of Six Flags from six of the course holes.
The Palmer Course was designed by, none other than golf legend, Arnold Palmer. It is a par 71 course spanning out over 225 acres of land with just over 6900 yards of golf. The incredible scenery, including a gorgeous waterfall and a memorial bridge in honor of Arnold Palmer's wife, add to the experience. If guests wish to rent a golf cart, they will enjoy the ProLink GPS system which helps them map out each hole.
Family Vacation Idea
Families will love staying at La Cantera Resort Spa. The resort is in perfect proximity to so many local activities which families will enjoy. Six Flags Fiesta Texas is only a short distance away with thrill rides and lots of fun for kids and adults alike. Sea World San Antonio is also only a short ride away, which kids always enjoy. For history and culture, there is the Alamo and Briscoe Western Art Museum close by as well.

There is a Kids Club available at the resort for children aged 4 to 12 and features fun, engaging and educational activities. Advanced reservations for the Kids Club are required. It is available Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. If guests require the Kids Club during the week, it can be made available by special request.
