Taste Carolina food tours operate every weekend throughout the entire year. Food tours are available in Wilmington, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Hillsborough, Chapel Hill/Carrboro, Durham, and Raleigh. In addition to their food walking tours, the company also offers foodie adventures and corporate appreciation and team-building events. Restaurants featured on the tours are all locally-owned. Tours are typically fifteen people or less. Corporate or custom tours for groups of eight to over two hundred can be scheduled for any day of the week.
The tour guides of Taste Carolina are as enjoyable as the delightful restaurants they will take participants to. They are friendly, easy-going, and welcoming as they tell all about each city's unique food, architecture, and history. Tours include visiting several restaurants, enjoying delicious drinks and food, talking with chefs and artisans, and learning about the culinary landscape, architecture, and history of the city. Taste Carolina's tour guides work hard to provide a fun, informative, filling, and social afternoon or evening out.
Each tour will visit specialty food shops, markets, and restaurants that are locally owned, most of whose artisans and chefs try hard to use locally sourced ingredients. Tours lasts about three hours and include at least five to seven tastings. Participants are often full by the end of the tour. Tours that begin in the early afternoon include a beer and/or wine tasting or pairing at one or two stops, while those that start in the middle or late afternoon feature more alcohol during the tour. Alternative drinks are available for participants that don't drink alcohol or are underage. Since food sampling is spread out over three hours, it's advised that tour participants eat a light breakfast or lunch before taking part in a tour. Photo: Taste Carolina Gourmet Food Tours
