One of the best romantic weekend getaways in Illinois, The Inn At 835 Historic Bed and Breakfast is a charming and elegant bed and breakfast inn located in Springfield and within walking distance of the Korean War Veteran National Museum and Library. Founded by florist and businesswoman Miss Bell Miller and designed by George Helmle in a Classical Revival style, the turn-of-the-century Inn at 835 was built in the early 1900s as a luxury apartment complex with many discerning clients and was later transformed into a bed and breakfast Inn. Today, turn-of-the-century retreat offers deluxe accommodations in the form of beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, first-class amenities and guest services, including a free shuttle bus and bicycles for hire, and warm and welcoming hospitality. The elegantly restored 1909 apartment building in which the inn is housed is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the only one in Springfield.
