Decorated in green and gold and lushly furnished, this is a stately room that accommodates two.

The Shakespeare Suite on the first floor of the castle is wheelchair-accessible and meets ADA standards. Dark wood and golden walls add to the antique feel of the room, as do the richly tapestried chairs and sumptuous deep red quilt on the four-poster king bed. The Candlemaker’s Cottage is a tiny blue building situated under a flowering dogwood tree. Two people can enjoy the cozy little cottage, which is beautifully fitted with a queen bed, a large whirlpool looking out on the woods, and an outside sitting area. Decorated in china blue and white, this pretty little cottage has a kitchenette and a gas fireplace, and it borders the estate’s wildflower garden.

The Woodcutter’s Cottage is a rustic building that is suitable for two guests. Also included in this cottage are a wood-burning stove, a whirlpool, and a kitchenette.

The Clock Tower is a two-story cottage that sleeps four people. It is filled with handcrafted wood furniture and it has beautiful stained glass windows and a balcony upstairs overlooking the woods. Downstairs are a whirlpool tub and a deck overlooking the village. The Clock Tower has a kitchenette, a dining table, and a sitting area with a futon and a fireplace.

The Silversmith’s House is the largest of the cottages in the Medieval Village. Its building is merrily fitted with turrets, towers, and conical roofs, and indoors it is spacious enough to accommodate six people. The house has two bedroom; upstairs is a king bed with a circular bathroom featuring a heart-shaped whirlpool, and downstairs is another room with a queen-sized bed and a half-bath. The spacious sitting room has a futon and a fireplace, and there is also a kitchenette. Each story has an outdoor deck, and the entire cottage is decorated in shades of blue and white.

Huntsman’s Hollow is a rustic village set alongside the creek that runs through the estate. In the center of the hollow sits a fire pit large enough to accommodate all the residents of the five cabins. Each of the cabins has a private bedroom with a queen bed, a bathroom with a shower, and a common room with a futon, a kitchenette, and an enclosed porch. The cabins all have a kid-friendly sleeping loft suitable for playing games in the daytime and for rolling out sleeping bags at night.

Breakfast is served daily in Ravenwood Castle’s Great Hall. As the property is a bed and breakfast, there is no charge to guests for the meal. A typical breakfast at Ravenwood consists of fresh fruit, eggs, muffins, juice, and coffee. On Sundays, the morning meal includes homemade cinnamon buns, which are hugely popular.

The Great Hall is open for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m. The Great Hall serves a buffet-style meal, which usually consists of two entrees, salad, rolls, vegetables, and desert.

Also on-site is the Raven’s Roost Pub, open to guests of Ravenwood nightly. The pub serves craft beers, fine wine, cider, and mixed drinks, and pub fare is available. Standout items on the pub’s menu are the beer and cheddar soup and the Excaliburger.

The proprietors of Ravenwood Castle are ardent gamers, and part of their mission is to provide guests of the castle with unique gaming experiences. The Castle has a huge hoard of board games and role playing games, and the owners coordinate twice-annual events. In the summer, Ravenwood is host to Con in the Castle, a gaming convention, and in February, the Hoop & Stick Convention is a weekend of gaming fun with all proceeds going to children’s hospitals.

Ravenwood Castle frequently has murder mystery events for guests staying at the property.
