Resting on the shores of a glacial lake in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC)’s Mohican Outdoor Center offers a tranquil escape from New York City. Spanning 70,000 acres, the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is home to some of the region’s most beautiful landscapes, ranging from serene lakes and lush wetlands to rugged mountains and rolling valleys.

Nestled in the heart of this unique wilderness, the Mohican Outdoor Center offers a range of comfortable accommodations to suit every need, from rustic lodge bunk space to several self-service cabins with fully equipped kitchens. The surrounding area is packed with attractions and outdoor recreational activities to enjoy, including Catfish Pond and the famous Appalachian Trail.

Rooms & Suites

The Mohican Outdoor Center offers a range of comfortable accommodations to suit every need, from rustic lodge bunk space to several self-service cabins with fully equipped kitchens.

Blueberry Hill and Black Oak Lodge are ideal for large groups and can accommodate up to 16 people in multiple bedrooms. The lodges have several bedrooms, bathrooms with showers, sinks and toilets and fully equipped kitchens for self-catering purposes and are heated with central climate control. Blueberry Hill has a spacious sitting area with an indoor wood-burning fireplace and both lodges offer beautiful views of the surrounding wilderness.

Trails End Lodge is another option for large groups and can accommodate up to 16 people. The Lodge features several bedrooms and seasonal showers, and restrooms are located in the Dining Hall (only open between April and October). The lodge features a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering cooking and a wood-burning stove for extra warmth.

Sunset View Cabin caters for up to six people and features two bedrooms, a private bathroom with shower and a fully equipped kitchen, while the Woodland Cabin can accommodate up to three people and has a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, heaters, and fans. Seasonal showers can be used at the Dining Hall between April and October. The Larch View Cabin offers accommodations for up to eight people in two rooms, each of which features four bunk beds. There are no bathroom facilities in this cabin, but seasonal showers can be used at the Dining Hall between April and October.

The Mohican Outdoor Center also offers a variety of camping options, ranging from group or private camping to tent platforms and walk-in campsites.

Dining

The Mohican Outdoor Center does not serve meals but has a variety of function spaces that can be used for catering if required. The communal Dining Hall can comfortably fit groups of 100 people for gatherings and events while the Boathouse is a beautiful wooden deck that overlooks Catfish Pond, which can also be used for function purposes. The Visitor Center at the Mohican Outdoor Center has a public dining space, which can be hired for up to 40 people.

Amenities & Recreational Activities

The Mohican Outdoor Center offers an array of facilities and amenities for guests to enjoy. The Visitor Center has a newly-renovated retail area that sells maps, books, souvenirs, and clothing, as well as offers canoe and kayak rentals for use on the Catfish Pond. Friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand assist with trip planning, trail information, and weather reports.

Weddings & Conferences

The Mohican Outdoor Center is a lovely venue for outdoor weddings, reunions, and retreats. The Center offers a variety of packages that include exclusive use of all lodges with bunk beds, and private and lakeside campsites, The Boathouse and Dining Hall spaces, each of which can accommodate up to 100 guests), a modern walk-in cooler, and free use of canoes and kayaks for guests.
