Founded in 1860, the town was named after the Granbury’s Texas Brigade’s commanding officer in the Confederate States Army, Brigadier General Hiram B. Granbury. Resting on three acres of exquisitely landscaped grounds, the Inn has 15 luxurious guestrooms or suites and two separate guest houses for larger families and groups.
Guestrooms and suites are luxurious and unique with casual and elegant décor, private en suite bathrooms with heated floors, steam showers with body jets and organic bath products with extracts of Sicilian blood oranges. Stylish bedrooms have a king, queen or double feathered beds dressed in gorgeous linens. Designed and decorated in a traditional Texas style with red oak hardwood floors and chic European furnishings, The Inn's main house features a comfortable common area for guests with a coffee maker, refrigerator and ice maker, snacks and DVD movies available throughout the day. The main house has eight well-appointed guestrooms with private en suite bathrooms featuring steam showers, showers with body jets, plush terry robes and organic bath products. Situated on the west side of the Inn looking out across the marvelous grounds and shimmering lake, Loft Suites are designed over two floors with a downstairs bedroom and private en suite bathroom with luxurious steam shower and jetted tub. A spiral staircase leads to an upstairs sitting area with a comfortable sofa, flat-screen television and wet bars, and a private balcony with outdoor furnishings boasts breathtaking views.
The Inn on Lake Granbury features two private guesthouses with separate entrances, fully-equipped kitchens, spacious living areas and bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Ideal for families and groups of friends, the Pool House accommodates up to four adult guests with a king-size bed and pull-out queen sofa bed, a private bathroom with double vanity sinks and a large glass shower and a lovely living area with stone fireplace.
The Lake House offers spectacular views of the lake through floor-to-ceiling windows and sleeps up to five people. The Lake House has two king or queen-size bedrooms and two separate bathrooms upstairs and a half bath/guest toilet downstairs.
Dining at the Inn on Lake Granbury
Guests at the Inn on Lake Granbury are treated to a full cooked breakfast each morning, which has won awards for its sweet and savory breakfast dishes, some of which include banana walnut french toast, green chile cheese grits, sausage pancake bake and blueberry blintz soufflé. All breakfasts also include fresh fruit with yogurt, an egg dish, a bacon or sausage dish and bottomless coffee and juice. Guests can also enjoy complimentary appetizers and wine in the late afternoon.
Renowned across the country for his culinary creations, the Inn’s Head Chef Wolfgang Weichert was part of the chef catering team for Presidents Bush, Clinton and Obama and continues to ‘wow’ guests with his sumptuous cuisine.
The Inn does not serve dinner, however, there are a wealth of excellent restaurants in Granbury that serve a broad range of cuisine, from Italian, Mexican and Japanese to all-American and exceptional Texas ranch-style cuisine. The Inn offers outstanding facilities for conferences and business meetings with a common meeting venue that can accommodate business groups for up to 18 guests. Meeting packages include business travel accommodations, use of conference facilities and grounds, including the swimming pool and deck area, multiple seating configurations in the conference center, a gourmet buffet breakfast each morning for overnight guests and appetizers and beverages in the late afternoon.
