»Golf Courses

Golf Courses

The Villas of Grand Cypress is first and foremost a golfing resort and as such it features 45 Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed holes, which have won countless awards. The holes are broken up into four different courses. The North, South, and East courses feature nine holes and can be combined in any arrangement for a full 18-hole game making sure that each day’s game is a unique experience.

The North and South courses feature many mounds and plateaus surrounded by sand and water which test a golfer’s ability to strike in a precise manner. The more wooded East course is more open and forgiving, instead focusing on how far a golfer can strike. Indeed, it even features a couple island holes that will force a short drive into the water. All three of these courses feature numerous tea boxes per hole so that beginners up to experts can enjoy the courses at their own pace.

The last course is the New Course and is a stand-alone 18-hole course. When designing the holes, Jack Nicklaus took inspiration from the fabled Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland, the birthplace of golf. The style of the course is modeled after the Scotland link masterpiece and features double greens, stone bridges, and pot bunkers as deep as 12 feet. The New Course is as close to Scottish golf as a golfer can get without actually going there.

Numerous golf packages are available when renting rooms that allow one round of 18-hole golf per day with a discount for a second round each day when available.

»Golf Academy

Golf Academy

Going beyond just the golf course, the Villas of Grand Cypress offer a wide range of golf instruction by PGA certified teachers. Villas of Grand Cypress offers many different packages of golf lessons and schools. Golf lessons are good for the golfer who wants to complete their instruction in one day and wants a one-on-one experience with their instructor. The shorter lessons are just one hour and can focus on an area the golfer wants looked at while the full day, seven-hour lesson focuses on all areas of the game. Golf schools are better for who want to spread out their lessons and don’t mind a four to one instructor ratio. The schools focus on all parts of the golf game and can be one to three days of lessons.

The golf academy utilizes a wide range of technologies to improve a golfer’s game. These technologies include the Swingmodel computer analysis to help perfect a golf’s swing, the K-Vest which is worn and monitors a golfer throughout their whole game to help pinpoint weaknesses, and the Sam Puttlab which uses ultrasound technology to offer another viewpoint in your swings.

The Villas also offers club fitting to make sure golfers have the perfect bag of clubs for them. The Golf Academy utilizes motion capturing cameras to perfectly map out your swings and compare them to their databases for a perfect fit. The program can fit all of a golfer’s clubs or just a subset depending on need.
