Casa Tropicana provides all guests with beach chairs and umbrellas and a beach bag containing towels, beach blanket and smash balls.

There are two golf course in San Clemente, namely the San Clemente Municipal Golf Course and the Talega Golf Club. Both courses feature splendid views from their locations on the gently rolling hills of San Clemente. Both clubs are able to host weddings and other events, making them ideal venues for guests of Casa Tropicana.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, from an invigorating walk or run along the three-mile beach trail to a relaxed visit to the local shops, restaurants and galleries on Avenida del Mar.

Beaches

One of the most popular beaches in Southern California is San Clemente State Beach. This mile-long stretch sits below a steep bluff and offers stunning views. There are various picnic areas and fire pits. Guests seeking a spot for a barbeque or some longboard surfing should head to the San OnofreBulffs section of San Onofre State Beach. In addition to three-and-a-half miles of sandy shoreline it is one of the best locations for surfing on the California coast. Surfers will also enjoy a number of world-class surfing spots along Trestles Beach, and there are several archaeological sites of interest in the adjacent San Mateo State Park. The Spanish-style mansion of La Casa Pacifica sits above Trestles Beach and is President Nixon’s former residence.

Attractions

There are many activities for art-lovers, such as the monthly “art walk”. On the last Thursday of each month, visitors can stroll the Avenida del Mar and meet local artists in person. There are also many art galleries along this road, and on El Camino Real, and these represent a variety of artistic disciplines from renowned artists.

The Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens has much architectural interest, as it used to be a Spanish Colonial Revival estate. The buildings now house historic exhibitions and are host to musical and other special events. Beautiful gardens fill the extensive grounds and the site overlooks San Clemente Pier. Historic Spanish architecture can also be observed at nearby Mission San Juan Capistrano, along with tranquil gardens and fountains.

Foodies can sample regional fare at the weekly farmers’ market held every Sunday morning on Avenida Del Mar. For an evening diversion, head to the Cabrillo Playhouse, which is a quaint and cozy community theatre featuring plays, variety shows, comedy and more.
