Alta Lodge is a classic ski lodge in the Alta Ski Area near Salt Lake in Utah that offers a comfortable, family-friendly ski retreat. Boasting a relaxed, intimate and informal atmosphere, Alta Lodge has cozy accommodations with beautiful mountain views, welcoming communal spaces where guests can socialize and delicious home cooked cuisine served for breakfast and dinner.
The Lodge has 57 well-appointed guest rooms ranging from ample, slope-facing corner rooms to spotless dorm rooms for budget travelers or groups of friends. Several rooms have ornate fireplaces, and private balconies with stunning views of Alta’s famous ski run, High Rustler, and none of the rooms have televisions in keeping with the traditional ski lodge atmosphere. There is, however, complimentary wireless Internet in all of the guest rooms and throughout the Lodge.
A delicious breakfast is served every morning, as well as lunch, afternoon tea and cookies and a four-course dinner in the evenings. Guests can unwind in the Sitzmark Club Bar over drinks with friends, or enjoy some of the other amenities at the Lodge, which include hot pools, two saunas and a sundeck with loungers and breathtaking views, and in-room massage services.

Alta Lodge Rooms & Suites
The Lodge has 57 well-appointed guest rooms ranging from ample, slope-facing corner rooms to clean dorm rooms for budget travelers or groups of friends. All standard guest rooms have one queen-size and one double bed in fresh linens, en-suite bathrooms with shower/bath combinations, vanities, plush towels and bathrobes, and AVEDA bath products, and boot dryers/boot heaters. Modern amenities in every room include hairdryers, in-room safes, and ski lockers.
Slope-Facing and Mountain View Large Corner Rooms feature the same amenities as standard rooms, as well as an extra twin bed or queen-size sleeper sofas for additional guests, and have magnificent Alta slope side or mountain views from floor-to-ceiling glass corner windows.
Original Lodge Rooms are cozy and intimate with two twin beds or one double bed with fresh linens, en-suite bathrooms with showers or shared bathrooms with showers, in-room vanities and medicine cabinets, plush towels and bathrobes, and AVEDA bath products, and boot dryers/boot heaters.
Dorm rooms have bunk beds in men’s or women’s dorm rooms with three or four beds with in-room sinks and shared bathrooms can be found a few steps away.
The one-of-a-kind Swiss and Tyrol Rooms feature one king or two twin beds with fresh linens and double beds in separate sleeping areas, en-suite bathrooms with shower/bath combinations, vanities, plush towels and bathrobes, and AVEDA bath products, and boot dryers/boot heaters. Modern amenities in every room include hairdryers, in-room safes, and ski lockers.
Alta Lodge Dining
Alta Lodge serves two meals a day as part of the stay. Breakfast starts the ski day, with a choice of Alta Lodge granola, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit and juices, yogurt, sweet bread, preserves, and eggs cooked to order, and Starbucks coffee, tea. A hot buffet includes scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast or pancakes, and home fries. Lunch is available and includes a selection of soups, salads, sandwiches and daily specials at an additional charge and a traditional afternoon tea is served every day and includes homemade pastries, shortbread cookies, tea bread, biscotti along with fresh fruit and an excellent selection of teas. A four-course meal with three entrée choices is served each evening.
Alta Lodge Amenities
In addition to excellent skiing for all levels from beginners to advanced, Alta Lodge also features a variety of amenities to enhance guests’ stay, including a comfortable dining room where breakfast, dinner is served, a bar and lounge for aprés-ski drinks and cocktails, and afternoon tea and snacks served in the Deck Room. The lodge has hot pools, two saunas and a sundeck with loungers and breathtaking views, and offers morning yoga classes, in-room massages and complimentary wireless Internet throughout the hotel. A Kids’ Club for the little ones offers a ski school shuttle in the morning to transport children to and from ski lessons, as well as après ski activities and kids’ dinner. The Alta Lodge Store stocks a variety of essentials and other items such as apparel, artists’ crafts and jewelry, snacks, wine and beer, and toiletries.
